Best municipality on findability in Sweden
In 2014, Uddevalla was awarded best municipality website in Sweden for the third year in a row despite stiff competition among the 292 municipalities in Sweden – Sweden is ranked number one in The Web Index.
Uddevalla has declared that their web is their main communication channel with their citizens due to cost efficiency and accessibility.
Uddevalla municipality in Sweden has about 5 000 employees and 55 000 citizens. They are responsible for preschools, schools, social services and elderly care among other things.
However, this meant new challenges. Uddevalla.se has about 9 000 webpages handled by more than 50 editors. Just keeping current content up to date takes a lot of training and resources. In order to improve their content Uddevalla implemented a data driven editorial process based on Visitors Voice.
Every quarter editors responsible for a department now get a report with search terms used on their pages that have performed bad. They only have to click on the email to access the data and suggestions generated from Visitors Voice. And then they can work with their content and findability based on this data.
Visitors Voice drives Uddevallas process:
- Shows what to prioritize for all departments
- Distributes the data and insights to relevant editors
- Suggests how they can improve content for each broken search term
